WuXi K11 Select
K11 Select is located in the core area of the Taihu New Town in the historic city of Wuxi in the Yangzi River Delta. The site plan creates a shared plaza and extends a green corridor to connect with the city wetland park and other civic buildings. With a variety of boutique shops and leisure dining functions, the project aims to activate the public landscape and become an integral part of the vibrant city cultural hub.
Evoking the imagery of layered Taihu garden stones, the design breaks down the building mass into dynamic, staggered blocks. The spatial organization follows the literati theme of "wandering through mountains and waters," creating a three-dimensional journey from the underground space to the rooftop garden. By incorporating landscaped scenes such as the "blooming hall," "mountain path," and "green hills," the design creates rich, exploratory spaces and informal social areas. The third-floor "blooming hall" serves as an urban living room and an ideal venue for cultural and artistic events.
The building materials include faceted aluminum panels and gradient perforated panels, generating rich light and shadow effects that echo the texture of Taihu garden stones, such as their "wrinkles" and "leaks." Extensive use of local terracotta materials offers a contemporary interpretation of Wuxi's traditional pottery culture.
The project has earned LEED Gold pre-certification and is set to become a park-style urban complex that infuses culture and nature with the contemporary city lifestyle.
